It could be some thing to do with firewall.

Are there any messages to say whether it's the client or server disconnecting the session?

Is there a router / firewall between the client / server?

Hi

I am using Xshell, but I log into server for days until and unless I log out explicitly. And My TIMEOUT value is 900

Need input on this issue

value 900 is just 15mins. But in your case if the line is commented, I suppose there is some CA or monitoring agents that cause it exit. Its not a defect infact. Its for security reasons perhaps. Can you check with your administrator?
