this is the convention for naming SCSI devices files. c represents the number assigned to a particular SCSI controller, t is the target number of the device on the SCSI bus (e.g. 0 - 15), d is the device or LUN number but is usually 0. the s bit i am unsure about as i dont really use but relates to a logical slice within the physical drive.....

Not safe for you to do administration on systems unless you're trained to do so.. But getting bits and pieces of these info might not help in the long run.

A slice is the original UNIX term for partitions, before MS-DOS came along, and it's still used in Solaris and *BSD, sometimes even Linux.

c0 = Logical Controller Number
t0 = Physical Bus Target ID (Disk = 0, Disks on SPARC = 0 or 3, CDROM = 6)
d0 = Logical unit Number (Direct Attached Disks = 0, SPARC Arrays = 0 - 4)
s0 = Number of Slice (s2 = whole disk)

any questions?
