I tried this excel macro. i did not get any thing.
Honestly, i do not know where put code.
In excel, i went tools, macro, visul basic editor.
i type your code. nothing happend. pl guide me.
where use this code.

Do not uuencode the csv file before running the awk script. Run your SQL, then awk then uuencode then mail.

i did same thing as you said. In excel there is no data.
pl tell me what is missing.
i did sql first
then i used your awk code then i used
/usr/bin/uuencode Report.xls Report.xls > attachment_report.xls
then i did mailx.
no data in excel

Type Alt-F8 and make a new macro. Place the code between the sub brackets. Now return to your sheet, type Alt-F8, choose the macro and run it.

But, I need some more help.
when i use that code
fist column widning too much length.
i mean it is widning 200 char length.
i need only around 25 char length.
can i restrict each column length of the table
with specific length of each col.
pl let me the code
first col 25 postiions, sencond one 20, 3rd one 15 like that.

Excel macros won't help here as I believe you are going to mail in csv format to a list of people. Not sure if you really can embed a macro in your csv.

If its going to be only on a specific system where the csv is opened then as a one time activity macro could be embedded on that system.

Why not do the space padding in sql output itself.
Here is the syntax :

To make the ENAME column 20 characters wide and display EMPLOYEE NAME on two lines at the top, enter

SQL> COLUMN ENAME FORMAT A20 HEADING 'EMPLOYEE |NAME'
