perl -wnl -e '/\bsomepattern\b/i and print $&;'

I know above command only greps out the somepattern and print them(not entire line).. but how do I look for multiple pattern and only print them.. is that possible?

perl -wnl -e '/\bsomepatternd\b/i and /\bsomepattern2\b/i and print $&;' does not print out both pattern.. only the last pattern (somepattern2).. is there a way?????

awk can be used for this...

above prints the whole line.. I wanted to just print what was grepped.(not the whole line)..

perl -wnl -e '/\bsomepattern\b.+\bsomepattern2\b/i and print $&;'

above gets me the closest but still prints stuff in between little bit
