Need help LS command

Hi,

in present working dir i have 3, files

$ls
load_ABC_tooracle.dat
load_BBC_tooracle.dat
load_XYZ_tooracle.dat

Now i my doubt, is there any option in Ls cmd in HP-UX,
so that i can igonre filenames with pattern "XYZ" and display only
load_ABC_tooracle.dat
load_BBC_tooracle.dat

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Manu

ls command by itself won't suffice, that I know. You should use it with other commands, such as sed:

Code:
ls -1 | sed -n -e "s/\(load.[^XYZ].*.dat\)/\1/p"

Assuming there might be other files (using grep):
Code:
ls -1 | grep "load.[^XYZ].*$"

I would just use grep.

Code:
ls -1 | grep -v XYZ

Wouldn't the shell have something to do with this? As in "Glob Operators".

In zsh ...
Code:
$ls -1 load*
load_ABC_tooracle.dat
load_BBC_tooracle.dat
load_DYZ_tooracle.dat
load_XKZ_tooracle.dat
load_XYF_tooracle.dat
load_XYZ_tooracle.dat
$ls -1 load_[^X][^Y][^Z]*
load_ABC_tooracle.dat
load_BBC_tooracle.dat

For ksh:

Code:
ls -1 load_!(XYZ)_*

For bash:

Code:
shopt -s extglob
ls -1 load_!(XYZ)_*

Corrected.
