hi, Thanks for quick reply,
but when i ran this script it is only showing node name but not the corresponding values.

Code:
root@jk:/home/testscript# awk 'NF==25{printf $1;for(i=2;i<26;i++){if($i == 0) printf " %02d",i-2};print ""}' remaining
JKSJM01
JKMSC1
SRIMSC3
SRIMSC2
SRGMSC1
JKGJM01
HRSAM02
JKSSR01

and also this is not working in solaris ,where only bash script can be run. Please help!

Are you sure NF == 25 in your input file? You better rely on the NF variable. Try
Code:
awk 'NR > 4 {printf "%s", $1; for (i=2; i<=NF; i++) if (!$i) printf " %02d", i-2; printf RS}' file
JKSJM01 11 23 24 25
JKMSC1 08 23 24 25
SRIMSC3 06 23 24 25
SRIMSC2 23 24 25
SRGMSC1 23 24 25
JKGJM01 23 24 25
HRSAM02 23 24 25

NF == 25 stands for Number of Fields = 25.
This is just a filter to avoid processing the header of the file as given in your initial sample ( and mine : node.tmp ) .

The code should run on any ksh , bash ,hpux, solaris and so on :this is very generic.
This behaviour occurs because the 00 are not recognized .
See my attached file (zerocount.sh ) : it's a script that creates the sample input file and processes it.

yes NR == 25

Code:
root@11x:/home/testscript# awk '{print NF ,$1}' remaining

25 JKSJM01
25 JKMSC1
25 SRIMSC3
25 SRIMSC2
25 SRGMSC1
25 JKGJM01
25 HRSAM02
25 JKSSR01
25 HRSAM01

@sunnu2u86
As explained, this behaviour happens because of your input file .
It seemes you didn't even try my sample script .
