Replace text/string with new line

Hello All

I have had a requirement where I need to move data to a new line based on a text

Input
Code:
:61: 456 B66666 :61: 878 N78777 :61: 534533534 BNNN

Output
Code:
:61: 456 B66666
:61: 878 N78777
:61: 534533534 BNNN

So basically as soon as it encounters :61: it should move to a new line
Thanks a ton for the helo

Please use code tags for code and data, [code]stuff[/code].

I will assume this could be a very long line. sed sometimes has problems with this, but awk can handle it as long as you 'fake' it with a different record separator so it only reads in chunks.

Code:
$ echo ":61: 456 B66666    :61: 878  N78777   :61:   534533534 BNNN" | awk -v RS=":" -v ORS="" '$1==61 { print "\n:61:" ; next } 1 ; END { print "\n" }'

:61: 456 B66666
:61: 878 N78777
:61: 534533534 BNNN

$

For exactly that simple sample, try
Code:
sed 's/\([[:space:]]\)\(:61:\)/\1\n\2/g' file
