Comparision of two text files
Dear all,
I am having two files big files i need an output file as first occurance of file1 field in file2

example:

file1:
Code:
raju
rani

file2:
Code:
raju|123
raju|879
rani|623
rani|253

result:
Code:
raju|123
rani|623

pls help me in this regard

Try this:

awk -F"|" 'NR==FNR{a[$1];next}$1 in a {print; delete a[$1]}' file1 file2

$ ./test.sh

But use absolute path of the file
