Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi Guys,
I have text file containing multiple rows and multiple columns. I wrote a script which gets the sum of every row like:
which looks like
1 0 3 4
2 9 8 2

Code:

cat temp.txt | awk '{for(i=1;i<=NF;i++) t+=$i;print t; t=0}' > sum.txt

Now I want the square of every element in that text file. I know this looks like a homework but it is not. I would prefer c shell but I bash would also do since I am slowly migrating to bash.

Instead of $t += $t, $t *= $t.

awk ' { for(i=1;i<=NF;i++) $i=($i*$i); print; } ' infile

This is awk - shell does not matter that much.

       print $0
     }'  somefile > anotherfile

Awk has an exponent function
