Select folders from one day
Hello everybody,

I would like to ask you for help. I have a task to do:
Find mtime of folders in linux direcory and move the folders that were modyfied in one day to new folder.

So if I have folders with mtime like



Quote:
dir1 Sept 1 2012
dir2 Sept 1 2012
dir3 Sept 2 2012


I should make new folders like:

20120901
which will contain folders
Quote:
dir1
and
Quote:
dir2
Quote:
20120902
which will contain folder

dir3

Use "find". Create a reference file with "touch". You can set a modification time there (see "man touch" for details).

Then use "-newer" and "-mtime" clauses to limit the directories found to a certain time span. Move these directories according to your task.
