Moving files to different date files

I have files as below

Quote:
AAA.20120630.txt
BBB.2120630.txt
CCC.20120630.txt
I need to have all the files renamed as below

Quote:
AAA.20120705.txt
BBB.2120705.txt
CCC.20120705.txt
There are 100 of files like this. How can I do this?

Try:
Code:
for file in *20120630.txt
do
   NEW=${file/20120630/20120705}
   echo mv $file $NEW
done

remove echo if it's doing what you want.

Code:
ls -1 *.txt | sed 's/\(.*\)\([0-9]\{8\}\)\(.*\)/& \120120705\3/g' | xargs -n 2 mv

With rename (if available),

Code:
rename .20120630 .20120705 *.20120630.txt
