Mail from Unix
Hi All

I recently installed Ubuntu on my computer. For using the mailx function what are the pre necessary condition which should be configured so that when when i use the mailx option the mail should go to the intended users.

The local mail, mailx, etc commands traditionally talk to a local mailserver. If you don't want to be a mail server, just a mail client, you can install a pretend-MTA like ssmtpd which will connect to whatever mail system you configure it for as an ordinary email client.

That's what i am asking.How to configure the mail client.

Well it really depends what you want. I gave you two options, mail server and ssmtpd.
