Find command without -daystart

Hi All,
on a Linux server I use this command to compress ONLY the files of yesterday
Code:
PATH=/home/user01/logs
TYPE="*"
DAYS=1
find $PATH -daystart -mtime $DAYS -type f -name "$TYPE" -exec gzip -f '{}' ';'

On SunOS the -daystart option is not allowed
A different test is the following on SunOS environment
Code:
find . -daystart -ctime 1 -type f

Error returned
Code:
find: bad option -daystart
find: path-list predicate-list

I need to execute this command, same effect, on SunOS.
Any suggestion will be well appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your kind support.

Regards,

Giovanni

Try using more values for mtime in your find command instead, e.g.:-
Code:
find $PATH -mtime 1 ! -mtime +2 -type f -name "$TYPE" -exec gzip -f {} \;

Does that acheive what you need?

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply and suggestion but I find compressed only the files of two days ago.

More exactly

26 mar 14:30 ReportC1111111.txt.gz <<<< compressed

27 mar 18:04 CompFile_bodymail.txt <<< not compressed

28 mar 13:35 FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.txt <<< correct!

I need, if this is possible, to find "CompFile_bodymail.txt" compressed and not "ReportC1111111.txt".

Any help will be well appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Giovanni

maybe try this
Code:
# ls -lRtr|grep "$(perl -e 'printf "%s\n",scalar localtime(time-86400)'|awk '{print $2, $3}')"
