Awk Help

I need a help with formatting, I able get the results but not able get the quoted to work.

My input file has (sample)
Code:
LN_ACVY_QD:LN_ACVY_MTH_200912(please note the semicolon)

I would like to get the output in the following format
Code:
exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>'qxdboa',tabname=>'LN_ACVY_QD',partname=>'LN_ACVY_MTH_200912' ,estimate_percent=>5,degree=>8,granularity=>'PARTITION');

this is what I have, but i can't the quotes around ownname,tabname,partname and partition to work
Code:
awk -F: ' { printf " exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>'$USER',tabname=>'%s',partname=>'%s',estimate_percent=>5,degr ee=>8,granularity=>'PARTITION');\n",$1,$2} x.txt

If you want sed:

Code:
echo "LN_ACVY_QD:LN_ACVY_MTH_200912" | sed 's/[^:]\(.*\):\(.*\)/exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>'qxdboa',tabname=>'"'\1'"',partname=>'"'\2'"',estimate_percent=>5,degree=>8,granularity=>'PARTITION');/'

Hi Devraj,
Thanks for the reply, when I ran I got this out put.

exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>qxdboa,tabname=>'N_ACVY_QD',partname=>'LN_ACVY_MTH_200912',es timate_percent=>5,degree=>8,granularity=>PARTITION);

But,
it's trimming first letter of the tabname
also ownname and partition does not come in single quotes
and is there a way to source a input file with multipe table names.

Thanks

The code i posted is correct and works fine for me. Double-check that you are running it exactly as posted. Also, if you are on solaris, perhaps try nawk instead of awk.

Good luck,

This works for me

Code:
nawk -F: -v sq="\047" -v user=qxdboa ' {
        printf("%s%c%s%c%s%c%s%c%s%c%s%c%s%c%s%c%s\n", " exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>",sq,user,sq,",tabname=>",sq,$1,sq,",partname=>",sq,$2,s
q,",estimate_percent=>5,degree=>8,granularity=>",sq,"PARTITION",sq,");")
} ' x.txt
