reading/getting a file from perforce

I have a file stored in perforce which contains some data. I want to read the data out of that file in perforce and use it in a shell script. How can i get read the file fromn perforce

What do you run to manually get a file out of perforce?

This: http://www.perforce.com/perforce/doc...ref/index.html seems to give the commands available from the command line...
