Need to use fgrep and egrep in a single command

This should suffice: grep '*[DXM]' file ...

This should suffice:
grep '*[DXM]' file

Given the other character patterns on the lines, it may be better to anchor it to the two forward slashes:
grep '/\*[DXM]/' file
