But when I used rpm to query, I could not find it:

# rpm -qa|grep gnome-lib
#

Did I successfully install the software or not? Thanks!

Executing the SRC RPM doesn't install the binary package, it's a way for distributing source code. After what you've done, you need to find the "specs" file in /usr/src/redhat/ and then invoke "rpmbuild -bb nameOfPackage". It also depends whether you are normal user or root. Search the web for HOWTO install SRC RPM, there are lots of articles.
I just found something pretty neat :
Quote:
Building Packages

(all commands in this section are never run as root!)

Q: How do I install a source rpm named foo.src.rpm?
A: As a *non-root* user, 'rpm --rebuild foo.src.rpm'
Near the end of the output, you'll see something like:
Wrote: /home/luser/rpm/RPMS/i586/foo.i586.rpm
That is a new binary rpm built specificially for your system, install it
with 'rpm -Uvh /home/luser/rpm/RPMS/i586/foo.i586.rpm'

Q: This isn't working! 'rpm --rebuild foo.src.rpm' just gave me
"/usr/lib/rpm/rpmb: No such file or directory"
A: 'su -c "/usr/sbin/urpmi rpm-build"'

Thanks. But I do not have rpmbuild on my redhat?
Another question is that "is src.rpm the same with a source code package?"

Look for "rpmbuild" with "which rpmbuild" - I have it at /usr/bin/rpmbuild;
The answer to your second question is Yes.
