Not everybody uses redhat.

You may need a version specific to your kernel. If you can't find any for it, you will have to download and build it from source, install it manually, fit it into redhat's init scripts, etc, since there are no standard packages to let you do so.

Long story short, I suspect you have borked your system by upgrading anyway when Redhat tried to end-of-life your system. I hope you made backups.

You already have them. You couldn't be booting your new kernel if it didn't work. But your module init tools and iptables are for a 2.4 kernel. Or did you mean the iptables compilation steps?

I can't give you steps that'll work for redhat since I am not running redhat.

I don't know what install paths you'll need, what compiler you have, whether you'll need to install a compiler, or what. These things do come with docs. Read them.

Hi All, Is there a max number of slabs that can be used per kernel module? I'm having a tough time finding out that kind of information, but the array 'node_zonelists' (mmzone.h) has a size of 5. I just want to avoid buffer overruns and other bad stuff. Cheers, Brendan (4 Replies)
