Setting up LAMP environment
I wish to setup LAMP environment. Amongst, I have successfully installed Linux 6.1. I am looking fwd to install - Apace Web Server, My Sql Database & PHP environment.

Say if I look for MySql, could see downloadable available in rpm format. But this must be copied over to Linux machine.

As installable be copied from Windows env to CD & the same CD is expected to be read by Linux, wouldnt it there be any incompatibility expected ?

If there is incompatibility, how it should be mitigated ?

How to access CD Drive connected to USB port ?
I have burnt AMP installables onto the CD. I have external CD drive, which connects to USB port. I am not sure, how I could access this CD drive on the Linux.

Please guide me , if there are any steps involved to mount the CD drive. Before mounting, please let me know what needs to be checked so as to mount this drive.
