Question RHEL5 - desktop problem
hi all,

any one has occured below issue before?

i login to RHEL 5 using user name root. howver, after logged, nothing displayed on desktop, total was empty on desktop. some more, right click mouse right button, no such options to choose.

any one has this issue before? any idea to slove?

Press "Alt + Ctrl + F1" key combination to get the terminal, Where you can use "system-config-display" command to configure the display properties. Also make sure you have installed the Gnome desktop packages and the Xserver packages.

Does your graphics card use an nVidia chip?

i suspected this is the link with another problem : could not open location 'file:///root/destop' while i click place desktop. after googling for most webs. they all happened in ubuntu. any one has this issue in redhat? thanks for support
