Red Hat

Hello,

Is there a Virtual Red hat that will work with Windows Vista? I would like to become more familiar with it and a virtual version will help me with a hands on approach.

You can use VMware server or such.

I would recommend a virtualization software package as well. You can try Cygwin as an alternative, giving you a "linux environment within windows" but I would suggest you go get virtualbox, as it will probably be the easiest to deal with from the get go.

Also, you can use Virtualbox, or VMware or such, with any x86 OS, for the most part, including other linux distributions or versions of Windows. If you have questions, let me know, as this is what I am doing for my virtual network to study for RHCE and LPIC.

Virtualization with virtual box works great for me,
you can get the software here: Downloads - VirtualBox
and after installing it, you can get a pre-installed image of Centos here or Fedora here. Centos matches the RedHat advanced server version.
the images are ready - so just load them into the virtualbox software and startup the virtual server and your ready to go.
