changing my username?
Hello Mods,

is it possible to change my username to different username and retain the posts and registration details of this account instead of registering a new account?

We usually do not change user names. Actually, we never change user names because we can't do that. There is a procedure that comes close. You create a new account and an admin can merge the old account into the new account. But as a rule, we do not do this unless the user has a lengthy record of contribution (usually defined as 150 posts or more).

But I'm willing to make an exception for you. If you want to proceed, create a new account with the desired name and then send me a PM.

The user "big" has been merged into the new user "Bashar". We won't usually do this. But I wanted to test the "merge user" function now that we have updated the forum software and big/Bashar was my guinea pig. Smilie

After mis-typing my password once, I logged in. And after the "welcome Clovis_Sangrail" message displayed for a little less than a second, the display changed to a screen to recover my username and/or my password (it prompted for an email address).
