hai ,


i want to connect to global ftp through ip address.
remote type is unix.
sometimes it is connecting some times connection timed out is coming

what is solution

I don't see how this is an expert Unix/Linux questions. Oh well! Smilie
Time out can be because of many reasons: Client is idle, server too busy, limit on connections etc.
Anyhow, pick an FTP client that can resume sessions. Also, see if your terminal has keep-alive option. Use hash: ftp> hash
