Not able to IP address

Hi folks,

i am using Oracle Red hat linux 6.5 64 bit operating system. but when i fire a command ifconfig -a it shows me no ip address has been assigned to this server except loop back address.then i done the following things

1)
#nm-connection-editor
2)
#service NetworkManager stop
#service NetworkManager start

3)ifconfig -a

but it doesn't show configured IP address even not able to pinh that IP address

Any advice to to configure Ip Address on Redhat linux 6.5 .

What have you done to set up the network so far?
Can you show us the output from:-
Code:
dmesg|grep "node addr"

I know it might odd, but I don't think that you have any network cards, or if you do, they are not assigned to/discovered by your OS.

The device Virbr0 could well be a Virtual Bridge. Is this a virtual server?

Oh yes, I should have read to the end of your previous post where you say it's RHEL 6.5 on VMWare. Can you tell us what network cards you have assigned to the RHEL OS, according to the VMWare definition? It would seem that you might not have any.
