How to find files with ERROR's in log directory
Using a Single Unix Command how can i find all of the files ending in .log in the /output directory tree that have the string “ERROR:” in the file

I tried these but was not successful:

cd /output; ls *.log | grep "ERROR:"
# 2

Code:
# find /output -type f -name "*.log" -exec grep -l "ERROR:" {} \;

Would list all the log files containing "ERROR:".
# 3

TonyFullerMalv's solution is more general, but if all the log files are in the same directory, then
Code:
grep -l "ERROR:" /output/*.log

is all you need.
