Before you do anything perhaps you should run the command:
Code:
lsvg and lsvg -o

Post the results here as it seems you have a cluster here which makes the issue a bit more complicated if true!

According to below cbsvg, logvg are not used by application. In that case, we remove these (cbsvg,logvg) vg and expand mdsvg with them. But what is the procedure for this?

Step by step, can any guru help me out?

Unmount and remove any filesystems that are part of the logvg and cbsvg, then run these commands to move the disks over to mdsvg:

reducevg logvg hdisk7
reducevg cbsvg hdisk5
reducevg cbsvg hdisk6
extendvg mdsvg hdisk7
extendvg mdsvg hdisk5
extendvg mdsvg hdisk6

Next time you run "lsvg -l mdsvg", you should see a lot more free space.

==> add the disk to the server
==> Follow below steps to add the disks to the VG

1) extendvg mdsvg <added disk name>

2) validate the free space by
lsvg mdsvg | grep "FREE PPs"

3) increase filesystem
chfs -a size=+25G /home/mecdr

or do the fast way if you are absolutely sure you dont need anything in the logvg and cbsvg - and since they're anyways not varied on:

exportvg logvg
exportvg cbsvg
extendvg -f mdsvg hdisk5 hdisk6 hdisk7

... and than extend your filesystem
