.profile file not found

.profile file not found

Hi

I am trying to load the profile file using

. /home/user/.profile

it says file not found, but I can see the file in the /hom/user directory.

Any help ?

u might not have execute permission. check!!

I have put this line at the beginning of my sh script.

do you mean the .profile when called from .sh should have execute permissions?

You didnt say who's profile you are trying to source...

you should not load other users .profile. create your own in $HOME

changed .profile but didnt ./.profile, yet reflected changes
