you can use this quickfix:
-i Turns off interactive prompting during multiple file transfers. See the
prompt, mget, mput, and mdelete subcommands for descriptions of prompting during
multiple file transfers.
-n Prevents an automatic login on the initial connection. Otherwise, the ftp
command searches for a $HOME/.netrc entry that describes the login and
initialization process for the remote host. See the user subcommand.
-v Displays all the responses from the remote server and provides data transfer
statistics. This display mode is the default when the output of the ftp command
is to a terminal, such as the console or a display.
of course there is a security issue here, you can create a public-private key pair and use sftp (see man sftp). search the forum if you dont know how to do it. it's been discussed many times.

Found the ftp.log only generate those entries from other servers/hosts.
Can we trace on all ftp entries either from/to the server?

I am trying to connect to ftp server and get the files. Also i need to rename the file in other ftp dir.
rename method is not allowing me to rename the file in other dir. When i tried copy command by using net::FTP:FILE then perl says it is not installed.

I have a ftp script which first gets all the file names and echo's the latest file.
