jinfo - configuration info
SYNOPSIS
jinfo [ option ] pid
jinfo [ option ] executable core
jinfo [ option ] [ server-id@ ] remote-hostname-or-IP
PARAMETERS
Options are mutually exclusive. Option, if used, should follow immediately after the command name. See OPTIONS below.
pid process id for which the configuration info is to be printed. The process must be a Java process. To get a list of Java pro-
cesses running on a machine, jps many be used.
executable Java executable from which the core dump was produced.
core core file for which the configuration info is to be printed.
remote-hostname-or-IP
remote debug server's (see jsadebugd) hostname or IP address.
server-id optional unique id, if multiple debug servers are running on the same remote host.
DESCRIPTION
jinfo prints Java configuration information for a given Java process or core file or a remote debug server. Configuration information
includes Java System properties and Java virtual machine command line flags.
NOTE - This utility is unsupported and may or may not be available in future versions of the J2SE SDK. jinfo is not currently available on
Windows platforms or on the Linux Itanium platform.
OPTIONS
<no option> prints both command line flags as well as System properties name, value pairs
-flags prints command line flags as name, value pairs
-sysprops prints JavaSystem properties as name, value pairs
-h prints a help message
-help prints a help message

PARAMETERS
pid Process ID of a Java VM that was started with -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote option on the same machine. See JMX Monitoring

DESCRIPTION
The jconsole command launches a graphical console tool that enables you to monitor and manage Java applications and virtual machines on a
local or remote machine.
NOTE- This tool is experimental and may not be available in future versions of the JDK.
OPTIONS -interval=n Set the update interval to n seconds (default is 4 seconds)
-notile Do not tile windows initially (for two or more connections)
-version Output version information abd exit.
-help Output help message and exit.

Listen, if you know a bit of programming in C and need to program unix-type operating systems the next transitive stage is for sure C++. However, have in mind that Java is like learning C but 99% object-oriented(o.o.) and with no pointers or memory-management tricks. It would be good for you to see... (5 Replies)
I have a pretty basic XWindows question. I'm using Linux and the BASH shell. One of the monitoring tools in Java is called `jps`, and it monitors all Java processes that are run by the user, an example output would be like this:
3459 Jps
2348 test
2311 Util
where the first column represents Process IDs and the second column represents Java processes names.... (8 Replies)
