guess-helper - Tries to guess the configuration by comparing four dumps of the NVRAM.
SYNOPSIS
guess-helper
DESCRIPTION
guess-helper is a helper program from the package nvram-wakeup. It will guide you through the procedure of creating the files needed for
the program guess and eventually will run guess at the end. The output will be a configuration file which might even work ;-) Don't change
any other BIOS settings you are not told to change until the procedure is finished.

biosinfo - Shows type, revision and vendor of the mainboard as well as vendor version and release date of the BIOS.
SYNOPSIS
biosinfo [--debug]
DESCRIPTION
biosinfo is a (small) program, that shows you some information about the installed mainboard and BIOS. This may help you troubleshooting
problems with nvram-wakeup. For support requests, please include the output of this program.
OPTIONS --debug
This option enables printing debug messages.

I have replaced the nvram on my Sun V480 and now the system stops at the "ctrl-d for normal startup, or root password for maintenance" part. The nvram auto-boot=true, but it still stops here.

I was trying to do a search for this but I guess I wasn't using the right terms. I just installed AIX 6.1 on a new P7 server. The OS seemed to be a success, however now, when I go to 'smitty' I can't use the default commands liek F3, F4. Instead I have to type esc+3 or esc+4.
