BINKDLOGSTAT(8) System Manager's Manual BINKDLOGSTAT(8)NAME
Binkdlogstat - binkd log analyser and statistic generator
SYNOPSYS
binkdlogstat < <binkd-log-file>
DESCRIPTION
binkdlogstat is a program which generates reports of the activity of the binkd daemon. It analyzes binkd log files and prints to stdout a
formatted report with the following information for each node:
- number of successful incoming sessions
- number of failed incoming sessions
- number of successful outgoing sessions
- number of failed outgoing sessions
- outgoing traffic in bytes
- incoming traffic in bytes
- number of sent files
- number of recieved files
- average CPS with node
It also provides total informations for these categories for the log file.
binkdlogstat uses stdin as a source and stdout as a result file, so it can be used as a filter.

syslog2dlf - convert syslog log files to DLF
SYNOPSIS
syslog2dlf
DESCRIPTION
This script uses the Lire::Syslog module to create a DLF representation of the syslog log files. It can process all the syslog log formats
supported by that module.
EXAMPLES
To process a log as produced by syslog:
$ syslog2dlf < syslog.log
syslog2dlf will be rarely used on its own, but is more likely called by lr_log2report:
$ lr_log2report syslog < /var/log/syslog.log

I have a program (written by me, for educational purposes) called "analyzer".
The program takes a parameter, a filename, and does some statistics on it (for example, word's number, line's number, ... ) at regular intervals.
My teacher told me that if the file is edited while the "analyzer" is... (4 Replies)
Hi all,
I am calling a subroutine which checks if a log file is writeable and if not, prints something stdout and also log something into the same file, which doesn't work neither of course.
Anyway, there is enough exit() calls, that should stop it working, but the problem is, that I get the... (5 Replies)
So, we have a script, that is supposed to have a couple of functions like showing number of failed connections, recieved bytes per IP-address, and so on. We are supposed to be able to limit the number of results to either 0-24 hours or X days back from the last data in the log file.
Everything... (3 Replies)
Hi all,
Sorry for the gullible question, are we able to different incoming / outgoing traffic using netstats ?
It seems like the local traffic is always on the left, and the remote is beside it. but it doesn't state the traffic direction.
or is it that if I have
