which path???

Hi

I'm trying to install some of the GNU tools (like flex-2.5.31 and texinfo-4.2) and linux-heartbeat-1.2.3 in my Solaris 9 and I'm having some troubles when compiling, most of them are of the type:

make: Fatal error: Command failed for target 'whatever'

or

ld: fatal: Symbol refererncing errors. No output written to 'whatever'

I installed the tools included in the Solaris Companion CD, that puts everything in /opt/sfw/ so my path is the following:

PATH=/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/dt/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/bin:/usr/ucb:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/local/bin:/opt/sfw/bin

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib:/opt/sfw/lib:/usr/ucblib

am I missing something??? do I have to put anything in CPPFLAGS or LDFLAGS???

thanks a lot

If you want to use the GNU tools you might find it works better if you reverse these two entries in your path.

I reversed the two entries and it is using GNU tools. Althought it goes a little bit further it still shows the same kind of errors as before

now I'm using the GNU tools included in the solaris 9 companion cd (the ones in /opt/sfw) now the only problem left is installing linux-heartbeat-1.2.3, it shows the same kind of errors as before when I try to compile
