I have a script that i need to run on all the unix flavors so how do i check for the condition

How to know the bit information of different OS, since "isainfo -kv" shows the bit information of solaris.
It would be helpful, if there is some comand to know the above.

I am trying to map the information from the gensyms command, Its gives information about the various symbols info like symbol type, addr offset, and the main libraries addr starting point.
