hp-print - Print Utility
DESCRIPTION
A simple print UI front-end to lp/lpr.
SYNOPSIS
hp-print [DEVICE_URI|PRINTER_NAME] [MODE] [OPTIONS] [FILES]
PRINTER |DEVICE-URI
To specify a device-URI:
-d<device-uri> or --device=<device-uri>
To specify a CUPS printer:
-p<printer> or --printer=<printer>
MODE
Run in graphical UI mode:
-u or --gui (Default)
OPTIONS
Use Qt4:
--qt4 (Default)
Set the logging level:
-l<level> or --logging=<level> <level>: none, info*, error, warn, debug (*default)
Run in debug mode:
-g (same as option: -ldebug)

I have a printer installed on sun solaris m/c sun os 5.8. It doesn't print more than 52 files i.e if a give lp *.txt and the curent folder contains more than 52 files then it doesn't print them but if print in batches , each containing 52 files then it prints them properly.

How do you print a batch of pdf files on solaris 8/9 to a post script printer(HPLaser 4350).so that printing is as both sides of the paper.We have tried to print using XPDF pdftops program but we are able to print only as one side. Hello, I am trying to print reports from our aix system to a Savin Printer. The trouble is that the reports come out enlarged on it. I have a unix based app that I'm trying to print to an HP Laserjet 4050n but it keeps defaulting to Tray 1. I need it to print to Tray 3. When I print to the printer from a windows based app it prints to the correct tray specified.

unable to stop hp 4000series (4250N) printer from printing multiple copies when a single print request is made using simple "lp" command from Solaris OS 2.8.

Dear all,
I have tried to use the following command to print report to a laser printer:
lp -d<printer name> -p6 -o cpi=17 <file name>
lp -d<printer name> -p6 -ocpi=17 <file name>
but it doesn't change the cpi to 17.
May I know what is the problem or is there any solutions?

I have a RHEL 5.2 server that I need to connect a new HP Laserjet p2035n networked printer. I can not install the latest version of 'hplip' since it generates an error (missing lib....) Does anyone know where I can find a PPD file for CUPS?

I just want to know how we can print a report from unix server to that printer which has installed on windows.
As from UNIX i can use below command to print ,but what set-up i need to do .
lpr -P<printer name> <report Name>

I have setup a new printer via a jetdirect on a SCO system. I can ping the printer and see it on the network.
When I print a file using the lpr command the printer queue show up idle and not print out on the printer.
