acpi - Shows battery status and other ACPI information
SYNOPSIS
acpi [options]
DESCRIPTION
acpi Shows information from the /proc or the /sys filesystem, such as battery status or thermal information.
OPTIONS -b | --battery
show battery information
-a | --ac-adapter
show ac adapter information
-t | --thermal
show thermal information
-c | --cooling
show cooling device information
-V | --everything
show every device, overrides above options
-s | --show-empty
show non-operational devices
-i | --details
show additional details if available:
* battery capacity information
* temperature trip points
-f | --fahrenheit
use fahrenheit as the temperature unit instead of default celsius
-k | --kelvin
use kelvin as the temperature unit instead of default celsius
-p | --proc
use the old /proc interface, default is the new /sys one
-d | --directory <dir>
path to ACPI info (either /proc/acpi or /sys/class)
-h | --help
display help and exit
-v | --version
output version information and exit

I have a DS25 and when i run "show device" don't appear my 'dka.....' and 'dkb....' devices, but i know they must be there, where could be the error? what can i do to see them?

I have a Korn shell that successfully queries the system temperature of my server. I am able to use the envmon env_current_temp to display just the last 2 characters of output. The full output is:
envmon:
env_current_temp = 36

Hi,
I have a NETRA 240 server wich should work on high temperature environment (up to 50 deg celsius). After reaching ~48 deg, the system is shuting down.
The HighShutDownThreshold of the CPU is set to 89 deg
The PowerOffThreshold of the CPU is set to 96 deg

I'm brand new to awk and need your help.
I want to be able to shut down my workstations when they become to hot (because we've lost our cooling). I found a really neat way to monitor the temperature of the system and a short, simple awk scipt to use with it:

Currently we have this DS4300 issue, we found that we have to replace the two batteries. Each from each controller.
1) When poweroff the DS4300, when taking out the battery, will this affect or clear out the saved configuration of the local settings ?

Writing a bash script for use with Geektool, pulls the battery info, and shuffles images around so that an Image geeklet can display the correct expression as the desktop background. (Eventually I intend to make it more intricate, based on more variables, and add more expressions)

I have been trying to access bios info regarding temperatures under my Slackware 13.37 OS.
I first looked at /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/throttling where I found my active state to be T0 and my state count is 16. My understanding is that T0 is 100% throttling of either the CPU fan or the processor... (5 Replies)

I have two DELL OPTIPLEX 330 x64 PCs with dual core (2.2ghz x2), 2gigs ram. First one is dual boot with Ubuntu on top of Windows XP pro 86. Second one is stand alone Ubuntu.
