And? That's it? Nothing beyond that? Hrm. Is LVM set up for all partitions, or just /home?

Yes, That's it, hour(s) already passed.

I'm not sure which particular partition, anyways, is their a way to know which partition is/are setup with LVM?

Code:
Remounting root file system in read-write mode: [OK]

So I think you can get strapped up into single-user mode. You might need a rescue CD or something to modify /etc/fstab to NOT boot the LVM-mounted partitions.

I can't seem to get through this. But what I did was booted into ubuntu8 cd and there I can see my linux partitions mounted. Now, I can see the /etc/fstab and here it is.

unionfs / unionfs /rw 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs nosuid,nodev 0 0
/dev/sda2 swap swap defaults 0 0

I'm not sure, I'm getting it right.

Ah, you need to mount /dev/sda3 (probably) and look at the /etc/fstab there.

Code:
mkdir /sda3
mount /dev/sda3 /sda3
cd /sda3/etc
cat fstab
# maybe prefix a comment to all LVM volumes.
