hmm, care to share which variety of Linux you chose to install? Surely there is an easier way to skin that cat!

If you are not going to keep the windows, just insert the installation disk and begin to install linux. You are going to make linux partitions during the installation process anyway, so why bother remove windows first?

well, the one I was going to install was called Topologilinux, but I have desided to trade it for Lindows/Linspire
