netbsd

i have install netbsd but don't have gui?what happen?i want to a mount external usb hard drive but failure?what should i do?

What happens when you invoke "startx" as root?

Standard is to put

xdm=YES

in /etc/rc.conf

trouble

when i startx it say not found in root.i locate xinit directory in usr/X11 but don't have and the directory xinit at /etc/X11.It is same?when i use command cd for xinit don't have file in that directory.should i write in there?

Did you install xbase.tgz, xcomp.tgz, xetc.tgz, xfont.tgz and xserver.tgz?

Have you got

xdm=YES
in /etc/rc.conf

Have you then done

/etc/rc.d/xdm start

another problem

hi, i just finish install what u say but i have another problem.i can't modified rc_configure=yes because when use vi to modified it say ex/vi:error?what should i do?when i finish install what u say, the background black and just command line interface?it is true i install it?do you have suggestion?
