Technology Level update errors

Hello, I recently did an update from 5300-0-0 to 5300-05-06. When I run lppchk -v I get the following errors:

# lppchk -v
lppchk: The following filesets need to be installed or corrected to bring
the system to a consistent state:

invscout.rte 2.1.0.0 (not installed; requisite fileset)
invscout.rte 1.4.1.0 (not installed; requisite fileset)
invscout.rte 2.1.0.1 (not installed; requisite fileset)

What do I need to do to correct this? Thank you.

Um, it says you need to install those filesets. Did you get any errors on those when you did the upgrade?

I did get the same errors when upgrading. The purpose of this upgrade was to be able to install Oracle 11g on a very tight schedule. All Oracle needed was 5300-05-06. I was actually attempting to go to 5300-09-00-0846 but du to the failure it only made it to 5300-05-06. Now that Oracle is succesfully up and running I would like to fix this issue. How do I obtain these files and install them. Also should I have done one Technology Level at a time instead of jumping from 5300-0-0 to 5300-09-00-0846? I really need to atleast fix this issue so when I do attempt to complete the upgrade it will work. Thank you.

I am not sure if you really need the Inventory Scout to be installed at all. Have a look at the pinned thread "AIX bits and pieces" at the top of this forum and find out which filesets are downlevel at all. Then get exactly these filesets from IBMs Fixdist:Central website, the link is also mentioned in one of the pinned threads.

You could consider removing the Inventory Scout at all if you do not plan to use automatic updates.

I hope this helps.

How would I remove it so that lppchk -v does not report any issues. Thank you.
