USB on IntelliStation 275
Is it possible to use USB with an IntelliStation 275? It has a P4 CPU and AIX OpenBeta. I would like to connect an external hard drive as backup.

Googling, this hardware has a 1.1 USB port if I saw it right. I think that's not a good interface to connect a hard drive to.
Maybe you can get some streamer DVD/CD writer for it.

I don't know the Intellistation but with the P4/P5 pSeries using an USB disk drive with the USB Port is not supported.

usb devices are not supported.the integrated usb ports are only used for keyboard mouse.Go with an external Scsi Drive.
