installing AIX 5.2 on 7012/39H from cdrom
Hi,

I would appreciate any help with the following, please:

I have a RS/6000 7012/39H that I am trying to load. I do not have the root passwd or any other shell access.

I am trying to boot off the AIX 5.2 volume 1 of 7 cd to begin the installation.
The machine has a terminal for the console.

I have tried:
- booting with the key in normal position (boots AIX off hard disk)
- booting with key in service position (boots into diagnostic menu)
- both of the above with pushing 5 and/or F5 on terminal keyboard after switching on (has no effect on the above outcomes).

The 39H does not support 5.2, 5.1 is your limit.

problem on sharing cdrom drive in AIX with linux

HI i have setuped a nfs between a AIX system and a linux os ,keeping AIX as sever i need to share the CDrom in AIX server with the linux operating system. ie. linux os machine does't have a cdrom . will i be able be share ..i tried a lot but it gives a message which resembles NFS access...
