vpath and sharks

Hello everyone:

just want to know how to get the name of the shark in which the vpath is?

The command for that depends on the software you are using, please provide more details.

Further - are you sure you are still using a "shark", which is name for a ESS E-20 or F-20?? Don't you mean something like a ESS-800 (which, AFAIK, was not called "shark" anymore)?

The LUN serial number is 8 hex digits. The last 5 digits are the serial number of the Shark. If you have physical access, match that against the physical badge on the Sharks. Or login to each Shark via the ESS Specialist and look at serial number there of any of the available volumes. For example, vpath0 (Avail pv tsm_vg) 70C22384 = hdisk11 (Avail ) hdisk30 (Avail ) hdisk45 (Avail ) hdisk60 (Avail ), the Shark serial number ends with 22384.
