What do you mean "stands for a special character"? "SUB" is just "SUB", the three letters. Are you trying to substitute for 0x1a?

In SunOS and JFP, Japanese EUC (Extended UNIX code) is used as character code system expressing multi-byte languages including Japanese character in the "ja" locale.
