so this file has 21,092 lines and around line 5427 this script begins to skip some repeats and doesn't assign a letter. Towards the very bottom of the file there are hardly any repeats being assigned letters. Is there a size limitation to this?

I also noticed that in some cases it jumps letters like in the sample below
it's calling DOG000161 "e" instead of "a". And DOG000162 "b" is really supposed to be "a". Why do you suppose this is?

Hi all,
I had written 3 KSH scripts for different functionalities. In all these 3 files there are some 30 variables in common. So I want to reduce the code by placing these variables in a common properties file named (dataload.prop/dataload.parms/dataload.txt) or txt file and access it... (1 Reply)

Hi.
I have a for loop that I use to extract integer values in a shell script (ksh). Now, I would like to add the values. My preference, from my c programming days, would be to do something like the commented out line below in the for loop. However, this is not recognised. So I use the line... (2 Replies)
I should preface this by saying I have never worked with shell scripts before so this is all new to me. I was able to make something that worked, but is terribly optimized, and I have no idea how to improve it. If anything it's a pretty hilarious script:

get_char() {

photon
PHOTON(1)PHOTON(1)NAME
photon - generates photo albums
SYNOPSIS
photon [OPTIONS] [PATH]
DESCRIPTION
Photon generates clean, yet configurable, static HTML photo galleries. All of the work is done from the command line, and the resulting
output can easily be configured by changing the template files found in /usr/share/photon/templates.
To create a new template (skin), first create a new directory:
mkdir -p ${HOME}/.photon/templates/my_theme/
Then copy the contents of /usr/share/photon/templates/photonv1/ to this new directory. Photon only needs three files to build pages:
index.html
used to display the content of a folder
image.html
used to display the page for an image
movie.html
used to display the page for a movie
If a file is missing, then photon will throw an error and will not run.
HOW TO BUILD A GALLERY
Quick start
$ photon -o myoutputdir /photos
Use the gimp plugin
$ photon --resize-plugin=gimp -v -o myoutputdir /photos
Change the size for all images and the thumbnail and keep the original photo
$ photon --sizelist=0,1600x1200,800x600 --thumbsize=320x240 -o myoutputdir /photos
Create a gallery from your custom template (skin)
$ photon -k my_theme -o myoutputdir /photos
