gluNewTess - create a tessellation object
C SPECIFICATION
GLUtesselator* gluNewTess( void )
DESCRIPTION
gluNewTess creates and returns a pointer to a new tessellation object. This object must be referred to when calling tessellation func-
tions. A return value of 0 means that there is not enough memory to allocate the object.

gluTessBeginContour, gluTessEndContour - delimit a contour description
C SPECIFICATION
void gluTessBeginContour( GLUtesselator* tess )
void gluTessEndContour( GLUtesselator* tess )
PARAMETERS
tess Specifies the tessellation object (created with gluNewTess).
DESCRIPTION
gluTessBeginContour and gluTessEndContour delimit the definition of a polygon contour. Within each gluTessBeginContour/gluTessEndContour
pair, there can be zero or more calls to gluTessVertex. The vertices specify a closed contour (the last vertex of each contour is automati-
cally linked to the first). See the gluTessVertex reference page for more details. gluTessBeginContour can only be called between
gluTessBeginPolygon and gluTessEndPolygon.

What is the point of this? Whenever I close my shell it appends to the history file without adding this. I have never seen it overwrite my history file.

After the success of the jq - tool for parsing and manipulating JSON-Data someone wrote a tool called yq, which aims to be the same for YAML, what jq is for JSON. Seems to work fine. I'll definitely give it a chance in future.
Example YAML-File:
