ISAMLOG(1) General Commands Manual ISAMLOG(1)NAME
isamlog - Write info about whats in a nisam log file.
USAGE
isamlog [-?iruvIV] [-c #] [-f #] [-F filepath/] [-o #] [-R file recordpos] [-w write_file] [log-filename [table ...]]
SYNOPSIS
isamlog [-?|-I] [-V] [-c] [-f] [-F] [-i] [-o] [-p #] [-r] [-R] [-u] [-v] [-w]
DESCRIPTION
isamlog
-?|-I info
-V version
-c do only # commands
-f max open files
-F file path
-i extra info
-o offset
-p # remove # components from path
-r recover
-R file recordposition
-u update
-v verbose
-w write file
NOTE
If no file name is given isam.log is used One can give a second and a third '-v' for more verbose. Normaly one does a update (-u). If a
recover is done all writes and all possibly updates and deletes is done and errors are only counted. If one gives table names as arguments
only these tables will be updated

mysqlshow
- Shows the structure of a mysql database (databases,tables and columns)
USAGE
shell> mysqlshow [OPTIONS] [database [table [column]]]
SYNOPSIS
mysqlshow [-#|--debug=...] [-?|--help] [-c|--character-sets-dir=...] [-C|--compress] [-h|--host=...] [-i|--status] [-k|--keys]
[-p|--password[=...]] [-P|--port=...] [-S|--socket=...] [-u|--user=#] [-V|--version]
DESCRIPTION
-#|--debug=...
output debug log. Often this is 'd:t:o,filename`
-?|--help
display help and exit
-c|--character-sets-dir=...
Directory where character sets are
-C|--compress
Use compression in server/client protocol
-h|--host=...
connect to host
-i|--status
Shows a lot of extra information about each table
-k|--keys
show keys for table
-p|--password[=...]
password to use when connecting to server If password is not given it's asked from the tty.
-P|--port=...
Port number to use for connection
-S|--socket=...
Socket file to use for connection
-u|--user=#
user for login if not current user
-V|--version
output version information and exit
NOTE
If last argument contains a shell or SQL wildcard (*,?,% or _) then only what's matched by the wildcard is shown. If no database is given
then all matching databases are shown. If no table is given then all matching tables in database are shown If no column is given then all
matching columns and columntypes in table are shown

Hi all,
I am facing the following error:
onc5# ./mysqladmin variable
./mysqladmin: unable to show variables; error: ''
Some more info:

1. OS is HP-UX.
2. mysqld is starting(/sbin/init.d/mysqld start) and stopping(/sbin/init.d/mysqld stop) successfully.

when a execute this line

i get no output, whats could be the possible causes?
