I just got another amulet of yendor actually...So rogue and any nethack derivative. I play eve online about every other day for an hour or two.
Just got a Wii and now mine is the coolest house on the block, A truly well built device and each one comes with a small horde of 8year olds.

I used to play nethack a lot. But I have not played a single game yet this century. I might download it and start playing again. Nethack is very impressive for a text based games.

Also, I used to play various Dikimuds and that is where I started using the name "Perderabo" (I always played a mage). Dikimuds were intended to be played with a telnet client. Part of the fun for me was writing custom clients that automated a lot of the game play. But muds are too antiquated now... I won't be playing those again.

Although it's not really a "game", I am totally addicted to "Second Life" (http://www.secondlife.com). There is a Linux, Mac and Windows client, and it's ALL FREE. It's a true 3D online world with rich creation tools, and you can make real money if you want to. It does require a fast (1.5MB DSL/Cable) connection and a decent video card (64MB is playable but more is better).

I also like "World of Warcraft", "HalfLife2", and I just recently got "DEFCON" which looks straight out of the classic movie WarGames. For Quake lovers, check out the free Linux game called "Tremulous".

I just found this site over the weekend: http://www.GamersWithJobs.com

Cheers!

whom do we get to play chess against? IBOT? Smilie If IBOT loses will we finally be allowed to smoke in the forums?(keke ...I hate chess because I always lose at it.)

But with the exception of chess I do like turn based games that require certain amt of thinking and also action and where you can spend hours searching for clues and shooting with blood gore spatter everywhere. like in Fallout1 and Fallout2 where you can use minigun to pump somebody full of lead. Smilie

I also from time to time enjoy old games of yester-years that have gone under the radar and playing them over and over again to look for the bugs or better way to win them. I used to check out the "underdog games" website that hosted all the cool old games in the early 80's and downloaded them for free then used dosbox to play them. cool. Smilie

check the link if you interested to know more. Games from 1979 - 2005 Home of the Underdogs
