Had a bizzare problem last night with one of our tools running on an AIX server that has not come up before. Trying to alias rm to move files to a hidden trash directory in the bash shell. I've tried to create this alias numberous ways and it's just not working. Here's what I've tried, anyone have any suggestions.
alias rm='mv $* ~/.trash'
alias rm= 'mv$* ~/.trash'

glplanet [-display host:display.screen] [-visual visual] [-window] [-root] [-no-light] [-delay number] [-bitmap file] [-wireframe] [-fps]
DESCRIPTION
Draws a planet bouncing around in space. The built-in image is a map of the earth, but you can wrap any texture around the sphere, e.g.,
the planetary textures that come with `ssystem'.
OPTIONS -visual visual
Specify which visual to use. Legal values are the name of a visual class, or the id number (decimal or hex) of a specific visual.
-window Draw on a newly-created window. This is the default.
-root Draw on the root window.
-light | -no-light
Use Flat Coloring.
-delay number
Per-frame delay, in microseconds. Default: 15000 (0.01 seconds.).
-bitmap file
The texture map to wrap around the planet's surface.
-wireframe
Render in wireframe instead of solid.
-fps | -no-fps
Whether to show a frames-per-second display at the bottom of the screen.
ENVIRONMENT
DISPLAY to get the default host and display number.
XENVIRONMENT
to get the name of a resource file that overrides the global resources stored in the RESOURCE_MANAGER property.
