The BOFH...

I was in converstion with a friend and got talking about getting help from centres that are supposedly the experts at a particular field WRT to their own item that they have sold. This is usually applied to help for specific SW that has gone wrong for some reason and he pointed me to this:

BOFH: We want you to know you have our full support • The Register

If it wasn't so true it would be hilarious and you couldn't make this up for a movie........

(This does not apply here as this is not a help centre for a specifc application. We are not beholden to some Corporation or other and we volunteer our services.)

I wonder how many have been sent around in circles and still not got the soultion you wanted.

Some of the comments are funny too.

This is the first time I have come across PFY == Pimply-Faced Youth, LOL!

That's why we decided - centuries ago - to take back "first level support" from a call centre - people were so upset with what went on there, and any reasonable question came back to ourselves stante pede.

OK. I don't care what it is you are selling - i want to buy it. ;-))

First level support has in most areas already deterioriated to a point where Google (even without any internet connection) is faster and better.
