I use two Apple MacBook Airs (MBA) for desktop work and Linux Ubuntu for servers; but I think this poll was mostly for "desktops", so I voted "Apple".

Happy New Year 2014.

A Toshiba family.

All four of us (including wife and 2 kids) have Toshiba laptops. They were all fairly inexpensive; perhaps a sign of the times that computers have become like other items - disposable when broken.

I voted Apple it's the laptop I use most, but I do run Solaris on it so don't feel so bad.

Other stuff I have to play with;

V250 * 2
Netra 1405
M3000
T5120
AT7280

All Sun

Laptop: Toshiba satellite p50-a-11l CPU: Intel i7 8*2400 MHz GPU: GeForce GT 745M RAM: 8192 MB Swap: 16384 MB Sound: Onboard HDD: 931 GB Distro: Fedora (Rawhide) Kernel: 3.15.0-0.rc2.git3.1.fc21.x86_64 DE: Awesome
Where rawhide is currently Fedora 21.

As well as a 'fallback' laptop, an old Dell m510, running Fedora20.

NOTE: Whith each Toshiba (Satelite) laptop i had/have, i did have issues occouring within the first few weeks, but once those were solved (guarantuee) they ran several years beyond the expected life time (end time of warranty).
